PHOTO EXHIBITION - "MONTE MESTE"

During October 31st and November 15th 2009, the Point Contemporary Gallery on no. 15 Icoanei Street, Bucharest, will be the host of the "Monte Meste " photography exhibition by artist Serban Mestecăneanu.

In July 2009, Serban Mestecaneanu accompanied the SoNoRo – Interferences grant scholars in the superb city of Montepulcino in Toscany.

The spectacular qualities of the place, the visual poetry created by the SoNoRo grant scholars as well as the majestic spaces where they rehearsed and gave concerts for eight days had as a result a significant photographic production.

The exhibition suggests two subjects: images caught spontaneously, having as a central element the inhabitants of the city and a series of individual photographs with the professors and students in self - imposed situations, distinctively different from those of the musician at work. The two subjects, one staged and the other one natural, the first introduced as a foreign element in the atmosphere of the place and the second one caught by the photographer by his simple presence on sight, produce the binding and at the same time the dialogue of this exhibition.
