THE BRAGADIRU PALACE
The construction began around year 1905. Dumitru Marinescu Bragadiru (DMB) started the Colosseum having in mind a Culture Palace - known as The Bragadiru Palace.
The Bragadiru Palace reflects the beauty of the period around year 1900, the special architecture having been perfectly preserved until nowadays.
In that period, this grand building was host for a ball-room, which could just as well function as a theater or a concert hall, a library, a bowling alley, a bank and a series of stores on the ground floor.
The building has remained until this day one of the most imposing and impressive buildings of the old Bucharest. It combines the architectural styles of renowned buildings like: The Commerce Chamber, The Post Office, The CEC Bank and The Supreme Justice Court, all built in the same period.
The construction of the Colosseum ended in 1911.
