Vladimir was born in Romania, in a family with a long musical tradition and attended the viola and composition courses of the Bucharest Conservatory.

Together with the Enescu Quartet, he is invited to perform on some of the most famous scenes in the world. He also hosts numerous solo concerts and recorded several discs.

Vladimir Mendelssohn is a composer, writing works for solo instruments, choral symphonies, works for chamber orchestras, chamber music, ballet and film music.
Currently, he is a chamber music teacher at the Paris Conservatory.
Since 2005, Vladimir is the artistic director of the Kuhmo International Music Festival in Finland.
