Kamerata Kronstadt is a young, dynamic chamber orchestra, established in Braşov in February 2014. Out of its members love for and dedication to music an ambitious cultural project has been developed. Kamerata Kronstadt has been from its very first appearances on the stage, an elite quality orchestra, a happy result of combining talent with exuberant energy and the hard work of its members, as guided by maestro Cristian Oroşanu. The members of the orchestra were chosen because of their interest in sharing in the intimate, special camaraderie of performing chamber music – these musicians also play in the Braşov Philharmonic and Opera orchestras. Under the baton of Maestro Cristian Oroşanu, Kamerata Kronstadt has in its first 3 seasons invited the public of Brașov to a series of events. Some of these events have been under the aegis of festivals like the International “George Enescu” Festival, Nuit des Instituts Culturel Européens, Meridian Festival, Mozart Festival, Music Holidays Festival, Musica Barcensis, Classics for Pleasure or Musica Coronensis. Many of the performances have been with special guest soloists including the violinists Alexandru Tomescu, Răzvan Stoica, Gabriel Croitoru, Stefan Tarara and Rebekka Hartmannthe pianist Horia Mihail, the violoncellist Răzvan Suma, the singers Leontina Vaduva and Robert Nagy, or the less classic Alexandra Fits and Analia Selis. Kamerata Kronstadt also supports some of Brașov’s social projects by means of benefit concerts – in January 2014 it performed a benefit concert to raise funds for «Hospice – House of Hope ». The orchestra is also involved in educational projects for the very young public of Brașov (educational concerts just for kids).

At the end of its first season, in June 2014, the music critic Grigore Constantinescu said of Kamerata Kronstadt: “Cristian Oroșanu, in his natural alliance with his musicians, has shown us that this beginning of Kamerata Kronstadt justifies, for him and his collaborators, the saying « the future sounds good! »”
