Andu Dumitrescu

Andu Dumitrescu is one of most active artists of his generation, in the fields of scenography, design, painting, light design and VJ-ing.

Prize winner of various national competitions, Andu Dumitrescu has been a member of the Romanian Artist1s Union since 1996.

After studying stage design at the Academy of Arts in Bucharest, he completed his studies in Prague and Milan.

His creations were exhibited in Romania, France, Italy and Czech Republic.

Andu Dumitrescu collaborated with most theatres in Romania: Bucharest (National Theatre, Bulandra Theatre, Nottara Theatre, Teatrul Foarte Mic, Act Theatre), Cluj Napoca, Sibiu, Targu Mures si Brasov.

Some of his most recent video projects were realized under Silviu's Purcarete direction: "Love and Other demons", by Peter Eotvos, based on G.G Marquez novel, at the Glyndebourne Opera House (England) and "Faust", by Goethe, at the National Theatre in Sibiu, both performances directed by Silviu Purcarete.

His next projects are going to be realized in Munich, Sibiu and Bucharest.
